| The first trip I took to California with what would become the Rampage/SBC crew was in late 1989-early 1990, I was 17 and thanks to a place called Tijuana and a dude named Kevin Martin, I would never be the same. But on that trip, Rick, Disco Dave, The Lummox and I stayed in The Vagabond hotel, up the street from “The Spot”, around the corner from the “legendary” Fat Burger banks, and a few miles away from Wizard Publications, the Freestylin offices. All of this going on around us, you would think there would be so many memorable events… Not really, except for this one. Imagine waking up on your second morning to the feeling of the room shaking violently for a few minutes and then the radio blaring at 5:30 in the AM about the earth quake that just happened. Then in all of this, in a smooth tone, the dj snaps back into easy listening mode and says this, “and now for a return to the Earth, smooth sounds from LA to Redondo Beach, the easy listening of KRTH 101” and then sliding into an funky number by Steely Dan or Rare Earth. Classic and unforgettable.
So what does all of this have to do with this post? Nothing, other than now I am your dj letting you know that the TrailBoss is back, in true fashion, in true form, and in true “return to the earth” colors and the original custom hand painted stencil lettering. The custom stencil is another story all together, but I will tell you that all these new frames are being painted by Rick himself.
